Laura J. Lago
Laura is a full-time artist whose art is influenced by her personal narratives and moments. She crafts her tales through various mediums including painting, animation (classical and stop motion), bookmaking, and children's book illustration. Her studies include Animation, Children’s Book Illustration, Film, Cinematography, and Motion Graphics at RISD, Academy of Art University San Francisco, Vancouver Film School, and Pacific Northwest College of Art from 2015 to 2020; and most recently Stop Motion Animation with Aardman Academy, the makers of Wallace & Grommit, based in Bristol, England.
Laura grew up in both England and the U.S. east coast. She has lived and worked in San Fransisco, Rhode Island, Vancouver British Columbia, Portland Oregon, and currently currently resides in Asheville, North Carolina where she enjoys working on animated shorts, painting, and book arts in her light-filled studios.
