Laura Lago began art lessons around age seven when her family moved to Cary, North Carolina, completing her first oil painting at age nine. Her training continued through a combination of college courses and private artist workshops in the US and abroad, although she admits she is mostly self taught. "Ask anyone that knows me well," she says, "I obsess over light." This never-ending artist’s eye coupled with a delightfully whimsical nature leads Laura's musings from oil paintings to children’s book illustration, and back again.

Laura lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina where the mountains, hills, and wildlife are endlessly inspiring.
